Elvis helps residents relive the '70s

It is a pleasure to have nice warm days to be able to stroll around town without fear of falling on ice and snow. Many residents are taking advantage of this weather to be outside.

It is a pleasure to have nice warm days to be able to stroll around town without fear of falling on ice and snow. Many residents are taking advantage of this weather to be outside. One more welcome sign of spring in North Battleford Housing Authority's maintenance members installing air conditioners early in May.

April 14 was a day to relive the 1970s. Jeff Bodnar, a.k.a. Elvis Presley, resplendent in red shirt, thick wavy hair and long sideburns spent the evening singing the good old songs that Elvis had made popular then. On display were pictures and tapes for us to enjoy.

A party to celebrate the birthdays of those born in March and April took place April 17. Many folks gathered to hear the country and western stylings of the Loewens and Company. A nice lunch of cake, ice cream and fruit concluded the delightful evening.

One of our much enjoyed shuffleboard tournaments took place April 26. Many people lend a hand to make these tournaments successful and we are thankful. The ones who care for the lunches, the board, the score sheet, the referees, all are invaluable. The winners and runners-up in each event are: A Event - Phyllis Maloney and Mary Zawada, Lillian Leduc and Mae Johnson; B Event - Joan Bannerman and Ken Elliott, Winnie Homm and Madeleine Blouin; C Event - Ruth Hrynewich and Amelie Murray; Dorreen Svare and Minnie Pozdrowski; D Event - Joyce Campbell and Olga Gresiuk; Alice Horn and Isabel Jones.
