Elvis tribute artist Jeff Bodnar is no stranger to the Battlefords, and over a period of four days he conducted a whirlwind tour of various venues in the community.

The retired RCMP officer's main performance was at the Knights of Columbus Hall the evening of Saturday, April 13, where he played to an appreciative audience of fans and cancer survivors.

"I have seen many of Jeff's shows, however this one had a special meaning for me as Jeff's kindess, love and surpport was revealed as he came over, gave me two roses, held my hand and sang I Did It My Way, which was a perfect song choice and it has a deep meaning for me," said Terry Rowley, who has been battling cancer for a year.

Bodnar also gave a touching performance of How Great Thou Art to Albert Borschneck, who has been battling cancer for 27 years.

During the evening, Lisa Wallin was willing to cut 15 inches off her hair to donate to Locks of Love, and organization that makes wigs for cancer patients, if $1,000 was raised. During the intermission, Bodnar went from table to table and collected just over $1,100.

Sunday, April 14, Bodnar sang at Harwood Manor, where $100 was donated to the Orange on Patrol Team. Valley View Towers I hosted Bodnar Sunday evening and Monday morning he was at River Heights Lodge.

"Elvis was a number one hit with residents and staff alike. It was a lively and interactive performance that brought rosy cheeks and beaming smiles to all our residents here. They were still talking about it the next day," said Karen Kindrachuk, RHL recreation therapy co-ordinator.

Bodnar was at Ruth Whyte Manor Tuesday evening, where another $100 donation was made to the Orange on Patrol Team. He wrapped up his visit with a performance at Saskatchewan Hospital Wednesday afternoon.
