Efforts of flower planting volunteers appreciated

Hi there. I do hope you all had a nice Mother's Day. We are finally getting some lovely summer weather. However, hold onto your hats, as we do seem to get that wind every day. It's nice to see the green grass and the trees out in full leaf again.

Hi there. I do hope you all had a nice Mother's Day.

We are finally getting some lovely summer weather. However, hold onto your hats, as we do seem to get that wind every day.

It's nice to see the green grass and the trees out in full leaf again. And thank you to the ladies who planted some flowers in the pots in front and back of our Tower. They always look so pretty.

Some of our tenants have been enjoying a few days at the lakes.

Anne Hyniuk and Ray Corbeill travelled to Little Loon and spent a day there. Then they spent a few days at Makwa at a friend's place. I'm sure you both had a good time, folks.

Laurine Wohlburg and her daughter enjoyed their trip to Shell Lake. They reported nice weather, too.

On Mother's Day I spent a wonderful day with my family at Travessa Beach. We enjoyed our visit together.

Ada Pasutto motored to Calgary with her daughter Marina and her friend Jack where they joined the rest of the family and grandchildren at her grandson's wedding (son of Ron Pasutto and Sylvia McLain) and Melissa Scherger at St. Michael Catholic Church. Then they served a five-course Italian style dinner at the BMO Centre at the Calgary Stampede grounds. The tables were centered with a bottle of white and red wine with the newlyweds' names on each of the bottles. It sounds like a beautiful wedding, Ada, and congratulations to the bride and groom.

The month of May was interesting for Ann Ewanchuk. May 1, Ann's daughter Erinka and hubby Rory Jordan gave Ann and Doris Jordan (Rory's Mom) an early Mother's Day gift of two tickets to the 2013 centennial gala at the Dekker Centre. Ann hosted a Ukranian Easter supper for grandson Nickolar, Carrie and girls, Ed and Maurieen,Hamonic and son Orest and Chrissy. Ann had a lovely surprise when granddaughter Darcia and hubby Todd Russell with their son Paul Russell and wife Taylor, brought baby Ava, Ann's great-great-granddaughter, to see her. How quickly these grandchildren grow.

Ann had a surprise visit from relatives Mary Chomicki and her daughter Patty from Simco, Ont. May 9, granddaughter Daniele Scherger brought a new great-granddaugther into the world. Ann's relatives drove her to her farm home in Whitkow and the next day visited Daniele and Scott Scherger's new home built south of Battleford. She attended a wonderful brunch with daughter Erinka and Rory's family. She also met cousin Bernie Lukawich and his sister at Jeanie Bagdanski's funeral. Ann and her daughter-in-law drove to Marwayne Alta. for a baby shower for little Harley.

Ann also helped with the garage sale at the Tower. She is a busy lady.

Get well wishes go out to Shirley Debay, who broke her wrist recently. I hope it heals quickly, Shirley. Wishes also to Anne Loades who took a bad fall in her apartment. Hope you will soon be on the mend, Anne.

Welcome to Bob Sarrasin who is out of hospital now and has come back to live in the Tower.

Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, everyone.
