Easter is almost upon us, and if you haven't done your baking yet, no worries. Stop by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Ladies' Easter Bake Sale on Thursday, March 28 starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Co-op Mall. There you will find perogies (pyrohy), cabbage rolls (holubtsi), braided Easter bread (paska), sweet Easter bread (babka) and other baked goodies.
If, by Saturday, you've gobbled the above all up, you can always take in the Battlefords Humane Society Bake Sale, also at the Co-op Mall, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There is an Easter flea market planned for Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1 at Gamex Bingo.
TheatreFest gets underway Sunday, March 31 when the Battlefords will be hosting drama groups from throughout the province for its annual theatre competition. The Battlefords Community Players start things off with their entry Transit of Venus. The newly opened Dekker Centre will be the venue for the performance of seven plays from seven communities over seven evenings.
The Battlefords Dance Festival begins Monday, April 1 and will run through to Thursday, April 4. It takes place at the Don Ross Centre and evening session tickets are available through the day prior to show time.
Send your kids to camp during the Easter Break. April 1 will see the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre start their Wave Crashers and Wave Runners day camp. It runs until April 5. There will be both aquatic and dry land activities for six to nine year olds. Check with the aquatic centre for times and registration.
