Duos Night at Maymont Hall - plenty of fun

Duos what can I say about our Duos Night? It was truly fun, fun and more fun. Hats off to the ladies who sang with their partners. Great job, ladies. But a little scary; just ask me. Close to 100 people joined us March 15 in the Maymont Hall.

Close to 100 people joined us March 15 in the Maymont Hall. We were also visited by Patsy Cline (Jean Dumont) who did a little skit for us which the audience enjoyed.

We sent our guests away singing and dancing to Party Doll by Buddy Knox. What a cute fella he was. Mel had a suit from the 1970s and Carol donned a poodle skirt, saddle oxfords, bobby socks and the rest of the outfit. Thanks, Mary and Kari Carpentier who made my saddle oxfords with white runners and duct tape. Thanks to all those who came out and to the hall committee members who helped out.

The new board for the Maymont Hall is president Mel Deagnon, vice-president Neil Milman, secretary/treasurer Jay Babineau and new members Garry Gallie and Kevin Babineau. All other members stayed the same.

The Ruddell potluck supper was held March 20, the first day spring began, and guess what? Snow! But it all worked out great and everyone enjoyed the evening.

A government grant was received by the Maymont Seniors' Centre to replace the old cupboards and put in new flooring. Work started March 21 and will continue until the project is complete. Thank you to all those who are helping with the renovations. The seniors are also selling tickets for a gift basket and an afghan donated by Kay Greenslade. Tickets are one for $2 or three for $5. Check with any of the senior members of the hall for tickets.
