MAIDSTONE — Cards were played March 30 at the Maidstone Drop In Centre. High score went to Lil McMillan and low to Dorothy Kissick.
I missed cards Monday as I spent the weekend at Medicine Hat with my daughter Linda and husband Larry Fiddler. Summer had reached southern Alberta and golf courses had been played on since the first week of March. Grass was green, tulips were up and gophers were out. I got an early taste of spring.
Bingo was played March 31 with a good turnout. Volunteer callers were Jean Hartman and Margaret MacEachern, who also supplied lunch. The loonie pot was won by Bev Stewart.
Gloria McConnell has been involved with CNIB for 22 years. She and a crew of 22 volunteers outdid themselves, raising $5,108 in their 2014 campaign.
Cards were played April 6 with Jean Stewart supplying lunch and Margaret MacEachern looking after it in her place. High score went to Denise Newton and low to Lil McMillan.
