HUMBOLDT — The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt is looking to the drive-ins of the past to raise money to support the children of today.
The mentoring organization will host a drive-in movie night at the Discovery Ford parking lot on Aug. 21.
“It's going to be in their parking lot, so they'll be moving all their vehicles and we'll be having the four storey screen set up there. We'll be using their entire parking lot for the movie,” said Morgan Forster, the mentoring program co-ordinator.
“It's the first time so we're hoping it goes really well.”
Forster said it was their idea to approach Discovery Ford about a drive-in movie fundraiser.
“We approached them about being a title sponsor and they jumped on it and wanted to be a big part of it and they offered to host it.”
There will be two movies shown: a family-oriented movie and a more mature movie. The titles that will be played will be released on July 15.
Gates for the drive-in, to be held at the Discovery Ford parking lot on Aug 21, open at 7 pm. The family movie starts at 8:15 pm. The Gates open for mature movie open at 10:15 pm and the mature movie starts at 10:30 pm.
