HUMBOLDT — Residents of Humboldt will be given a chance to celebrate Humboldt Collegiate Institute’s graduates of 2021 with a drive-by procession.

The event will happen on Tuesday, June 29 starting at 6 p.m. and going until 7 p.m or 7:30 p.m. It will be happening a day after the high school holds multiple small ceremonies for all of the grads.

Graduates will be lined up along Leo Parker Way – the road that goes through the high school and Uniplex grounds – in their formal attire. Participants will be driving by to celebrate the grads. The event is being organized by a parent group.

This year, there's a designated route for the event. Attendees will travel on Fifth Avenue, then turn north on 17th Street. They’ll then turn west at Leo Parker Way and follow that road as it turns south and exits onto Fifth Avenue.

Participants won’t be able to access the drive-by by turning south on 17th Street from Highway 5 and then turning onto Leo Parker Way, as the RCMP have advised everyone to stay off of the highway due to highway traffic speed.
