There Speers and District United Church held their 20th dinner theatre April 5, 6 and 7. There was a full house for each performance.

This year's play was called Homecoming by Leeann Minogue. The homecoming takes place at the family farm , the Wilson family farm, at Stoney Valley, Sask., in Saskatchewan's centennial year of 2005.

Homecoming is a humorous and heart warming story about family values and relationships as Jerry Wilson faces retirement but is having a hard time accepting the fact that his son Greg Wilson will be running the farm with all the responsibilities.

The cast for Homecoming included Rob Jones as Jerry Wilson; Diane Jones as Marlene Wilson, Jerry's wife; Gordon Moore as son Greg Wilson; Lisa Moore as Susan Bryant, Wilson's daughter; Colleen Wicks as Norma Janson, neighbour; and Lucas Lafrenier as Roy Camera.

Others included Linda Paulsow, director; Lisa Moore, set director; Russ MacNutt, sound, lights, and music; Ruth Foster, box office; Glynis Oliver, publicity; Elizabeth Smith, prompter; Peter Debroka, emcee for Friday and Sunday; April Lafreniere, emcee for Saturday's performance.

At intermission at Sunday's performance, raffle draws were made with winners Paul and Ruth Bilanski, Jean Sawichyn, Linda Welford, Gerry and Linda Welford, Gary Drabble, Doris Tarasoff, and Lynn Morrison.
