The Battleford's Photo Club held their monthly meeting Feb. 5 at the Don Ross in North Battleford.

Nine members and three guests were present. The first photo of the month challenge of the year was critiqued by the club. The theme was "winter" and the winning photo was taken by Janelle Cox; entitled Ice Fishing. Ice Fishing will be showcased at Crandleberry's during the month and everyone is welcome to stop by to view it.

Next month's theme is Relationships/Love/Romance.

The group also discussed their recent field trip to the Ukrainian Dance Festival that four members attended. It was an enjoyable experience and an opportunity to stretch comfort zones by photographing people in this type of setting. The club would like to send out a huge thank you to the dance club for letting them come and photograph the event.

Members also shared and discussed the use of different camera settings in different situations; including settings used to photograph the dancers at the festival. It was stressed to the guests that the members attend meetings to learn and share, so beginners to the more experienced photographer are more than welcome to attend meetings.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday March 5 at 7 p.m. at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month. New members are encouraged to come and see what the club is about. Don't forget to bring your camera and a photo for the photo of the month. Please contact Chris Wolfe at 445-3909 for more information.
