Yvette and Brian McGown of Belbutte celebrated their 65th birthdays, which are one week apart, on the evening of May 31 in the Belbutte community hall.

There was a full house of well wishers who sang Happy Birthday as well as giving many cards. It was a time for socializing and catching up on local happenings. Music was very much a part of the program as Brian is at home sitting at the keyboard. He was accompanied by Laura and Dale Budd with guitars and Leon Charboneau with his mouth organ. Sonja Nielson favoured the group with a song.

Lunch was set out around 9:30 p.m., which people enjoyed, along with good coffee.

The elegantly decorated cupcakes and birthday cake were made by Yvette's daughter-in-law, Danielle, with some help from hubby Jaryd Wirth.

Guests who travelled far to join them on this special occasion wereBrian's daughter Lori and Kent Wolowski from Carrot River, Yvette's cousin Claude and Jeanette Chartier from Prince Albert, Marge and Lionel Baillargeon from North Battleford and Yvette's mother Lucy Coupal from Medstead.

It was indeed an evening to remember and the result of a lot of work in preparation, turning out to bea big success. Congratulations Yvette and Brian and many more to come.
