Colourful attraction

Car Mel Country joined the Red Hat ladies July 20 in the Battleford parade. I'm sure those who were there truly enjoyed it. The children were laughing and waving and so were the adults. The music just added to this colourful float.

Car Mel Country joined the Red Hat ladies July 20 in the Battleford parade.

I'm sure those who were there truly enjoyed it. The children were laughing and waving and so were the adults. The music just added to this colourful float.

The theme of the float was A Royal Party, and the Red Hat earned second prize for non-commercial float.

The Red Hat Society's primary purpose is social interaction and bonding among women. The leader of a local chapter is usually referred to as a "queen." Members 50 years or older are called Red Hatters and those under 50 are called Pink Hatters.

Did you know Maymont had, and still has, famous people? How about Roy Rogers, Tom Sawyer and Carol Brunette? Maymont Legends of Country is happening Oct. 6. Mark this on your calendar. I promise you won't want to miss this one. More information will follow at a later date.
