Club reorganizes for the year

The annual meeting of the Action Now Senior Center was held March 17. Officers returned by acclamation for the coming year are: president - Margaret Kemp; vice-president - Margaret Fedun; and secretary - Yvonne MacPherson.

Officers returned by acclamation for the coming year are: president - Margaret Kemp; vice-president - Margaret Fedun; and secretary - Yvonne MacPherson. Lucille Shutra was elected treasurer. Membership fees remain the same at $5 for the year and honorary life membership certificates will be presented to those 85 years plus.

March-April birthday potluck luncheon was held April 9 with more than 40 members present. Ten birthday celebrants took their places at the head table with Ray Meier receiving an honorary life membership. Irene Nichol was also a recipient but was not present. After lunch, 42 people enjoyed an afternoon of Kaiser and socializing.

Wednesday, April 16, the annual afternoon Kaiser tournament was held with Jim Beatty becoming the 2014 champion. Second place went to Jean Smith and third to Tom Nuttall. The annual cribbage tournament held April 25 saw Theo Omelchenko claim the championship with Marth Speilman second and Evelyn Foster third.

We are saddened that some of our former members are no longer with us. Some have been away due to health issues and we wish everyone a speedy recovery and hope they will be back real soon.
