Clean-up day at Borden is Saturday, May 25, starting soon after 8 a.m. The crews cleaning up the 50,000 or more sandbags, etc., will be fed lunch and snacks at the clean-up sites and supper will be held in the community centre with music and entertainment. Borden appreciated all the help they received during the flooding and anyone who was involved can come to the supper, which will try to use up all of the donated food that came pouring in over the two weeks.

Now that the water has receded to only one or two pumps being used - and hopefully they can soon be shut off - May 25 is party time.

Radisson Royal Purple members Audrey Baker and Lorraine Olinyk travelled to Maymont Central School May 14 to award winners from the Sask Elks Association Provincial Poster, Literary and Video Contest.

In the posters, Brooklyn Boklaschuk placed second in juniors and received $62.50 in prize money. The Grade 10 class had entered videos in the senior category and placing first were Tori Hamp, Arielle Hamp and Katy Schmidt, receiving $125 for their effort, and placing third were Ice Maxwell and Katie Serhienko, who received $62.50.

The school received the total of what the students were given. Accepting the cheque for $250 was Principal Shaun Lockwood. Congratulations to the provincial winners.

Congratulations to Mark and Carrie Harkness of Borden on the birth of their baby boy, David Charles, who arrived May 3, weighing nine pounds and eight ounces. David will be well looked after and pampered with five sisters doting on him.

Winning the April Radisson Centennial 50/50 was Allie Ferris-Nichol of Radisson, who won a total of $440. The next draw will be May 31; get your $2 ticket as the prize is well worth it.
