MAIDSTONE 鈥 Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre June 3 with Joan and Shannon Smith doing the calling. The loonie pot was divided between Dorothy Kissick and Verla Mitchell. Bev Stewart provided lunch.
Cribbage was played June 8 with a perfect score for the afternoon going to Jean Hartman. Low went to Bev Stewart, who also provided lunch.
Denise Newton and Jean Hartman attended the Regional A meeting for SSAI in Lashburn May 7. There were about 39 people in attendance. Guests were greeted with muffins, cookies, coffee, tea and juice.
Linda Art gave historical information. In 1939, Anne Douglas created a pioneer group. In 1942 the $19 pension was changed to $29. In 1962, medicare was introduced. In 1977, New Horizons started. The SSAI first met in Yorkton. Saskatchewan has the most seniors.
Yvonne Wilson read poems and verses about grandmas.
Reports were given by Maidstone, Lashburn, Livelong, Loon Lake, Cut Knife, Edam, Paynton, Meota, Pierceland and Maymont. Several centres have closed.
Door prizes of potted plants were given out. Denise won the first plant.
Material on 鈥淏e Safe鈥 was handed out.

Communities in Bloom volunteers have filled all the planters and hanging baskets around town. More decorated bikes have been added in new spots. Our town becomes more beautiful each week. Thanks to these dedicated volunteers.
