Churches generous in sharing their feasts

A mild October is passing quickly. Thanksgiving has come and gone. Thank you to the people of St. Vital and Notre Dame churches for their kind offer to share their Thanksgiving dinners with us. Oct. 13, we received our annual flu shots.

A mild October is passing quickly. Thanksgiving has come and gone. Thank you to the people of St. Vital and Notre Dame churches for their kind offer to share their Thanksgiving dinners with us.

Oct. 13, we received our annual flu shots. It is hoped that illness, such as the flu, will bypass our residents. Get well soon to each person who is not feeling well at this time.

Welcome to all those folks who have just moved in. May you find life interesting and enjoyable in Tower 1.

Welcome home to those who have been travelling this fall. We want to hear all about your journeys.

Sincere sympathy to Blanche Nichol in the recent passing of her son.

Oct. 13, we were happy to be entertained by Charlie and Carol Reed from Florida. Charlie is a Methodist pastor and evangelist. He brings the gospel message clearly and asks questions requiring thoughtful answers from his audience. He plays the piano and we enjoyed singing familiar hymns. It was a delightful way to spend an evening.

A birthday party took place on Oct. 16 to help those people celebrate who have their special days this month. A four member group called Country Cousins provided the music for listening and dancing. Many were glad to hear some old favourite tunes that live on through the years. A nice lunch of birthday cake, ice cream and fruit was served. Many happy returns of the days to all October celebrants.

Oct. 25 gave us a taste of winter with a good snowfall. It was pleasant to stay indoors and enjoy a shuffleboard tournament. Eight teams took part, providing fun for many.

Thank you to all who worked hard to make this a successful day. A delicious lunch of soup and sandwiches was served. Referees were Ruth Hrynewich, Phyllis Maloney and Alice Horn. Joan Bannerman took care of the score sheet. Thanks to Maurice Huard for donating some commemorative coins to be used as prizes. Winners and runners up are: A Event - Alice Horn and Ken Elliott, Betty Moore and Amelie Murray; B Event - Winnie Hamm and Phyllis Maloney, Ruth Hrynewich and Olga Gresiuk; C Event - Lillian Leduc and Mary Zawada, Lise Watch and Muriel Johnson; D Event - Madeleine Blouin and Shirley Leite, Dorreen Svare and Rene Gagne

Good shuffling, all.
