That's all folks! Christmas is almost over for another year, leaving us with happy memories of good times shared with friends and family. But, wait; you can still celebrate New Year's.

That's all folks! Christmas is almost over for another year, leaving us with happy memories of good times shared with friends and family. But, wait; you can still celebrate New Year's. Although home gatherings are more the social norm nowadays, you can still take in a couple of events in and around the community this New Year's. Happy New Year everyone. Wishing you much health and happiness.

Naturally, following a month full of festive fun, the community calendar has simplified for most. You can enjoy some well-deserved downtime from the hustle and bustle that Christmas season brings. Take this opportunity to visit friends and family, and enjoy some comfort in your own home before heading into the New Year.

While students are enjoying their extended Christmas break, it won't be long before they are back in class.

If you are looking for something to do over the holidays, you don't have to head out of town. You can enjoy a movie at Second Avenue Cinema. Or you can watch hockey or curling at the arena. There will also be some free ice time for shinny and public skating but you should check the schedule either posted at the rink or on the Town of Unity website to be sure of those times. There is plenty of snow on Mount Wilson to take in some sledding action.

Or use the downtime to "pay it forward" to a neighbour or senior in the community by offering a visit, a sidewalk shovelled or some errand running. Keep that Christmas spirit alive by giving back to someone who could use a hand.

The New Year will bring another full slate of activities upcoming in the community. You will want to watch for details on annual events like the wildlife supper, Celebrate Unity, and Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

As we head into January, we can be thankful for the blessings we experienced in 2013 and look forward to another brand new year of fun and experiences we can share as a community.
