Christmas lighting display winners announced

The winners in the Neilburg Christmas lighting contest have been announced. Chris Lepine and Tanya Zakall were the first place winners. Lyle and Della Thom had the second place display and Shauna and Mike McGillis placed third.

The winners in the Neilburg Christmas lighting contest have been announced. Chris Lepine and Tanya Zakall were the first place winners. Lyle and Della Thom had the second place display and Shauna and Mike McGillis placed third. Each winner receives credit on their utility bills, from the Village of Neilburg.

The Neilburg seniors held a Games Day, Jan. 3, at the Friendship Korner. Tom Poppleton and Rose Leitheiser teamed up to win the A side of the shuffleboard competition. Edith Christensen and Lois Cammidge were the runners-up. Marjorie Nattress and Vonnie Rutherford were the B side winners with Jackie Goodall and Les Christensen as the runners-up. Grant Doolittle was the lucky raffle winner. After the traditional soup and sandwich luncheon, cribbage was played. Linda McGarry and Edith Christensen had the high hands and Cindy Coxworthy and John McGarry had the low hands. Mark Feb. 6 on your calendar as the next Games Day.

The Neilburg/Marsden United Church congregation held their annual White Gift service Dec. 18. That same morning, the children and youth in the congregation put on the Christmas pageant, The Not-So-Silent Night. It was directed by Joan Gibb.
