Chili on a bun hosted Jan. 22

Cards were played Dec. 16 at the Maidstone Drop In Centre. High score went to Margaret MacEachern and low to Jean Hartman. Lunch was provided by Denise Newton. Christmas bingo was played Dec. 18 with a good turnout.

Christmas bingo was played Dec. 18 with a good turnout. Everyone went home with a $3 prize and those who won more than once received a 50 cent prize or two. Lunch was provided by Margaret MacEachern with oranges and Christmas cake saved from the Christmas supper.

The first meeting of 2014 was held Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. with vice-president Sharon Smith, in the chair. A moment of silence was held for members who passed away in 2013 - Birdie Harris, Peter Taylor, George Danychuk, Mervin Burgess, Ina Corker, Marj Newsted, Dorothy Stakiw and Bernice Hope.

A correction from the Christmas supper report is there were 88 in attendance.

The members will be catering a come and go tea for Jean Stewart's 90th birthday on the afternoon of Jan. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Exercises resumed Jan. 6.

Chili on a bun luncheon will be held Jan. 22 at noon. Charge is $6 per person.

Collection from cards and bingo for the month of February will once again go to Telemiracle.

From March to Dec. 31, 2013 our centre was visited by 3,679 people and some names may not have been put in the register. Our centre is not only used by seniors by also be different organizations and family gatherings throughout the year.
