Cards and bingo while away winter hours

Catch the 10 Whist was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Feb. 18 with Jean Hartman providing lunch. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz and low to Ray Hartman. Bingo was played Feb. 20 with Margaret MacEachern doing the calling.

Bingo was played Feb. 20 with Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. The loonie pot was won by Jean Hartman. Lunch was provided by Dorothy Kissick and Jean Hartman.

Cribbage was played Feb. 25 with Jean Hartman hosting and providing lunch. High score went to Jean Stewart and low to Daphne McLaren.

Bingo was played Feb. 27 with Jean Hartman and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. Lunch was provided by Norma Hougan.

A number of seniors attended the craft show and afternoon tea at the Pine Island Suites Feb. 28. Crafts were displayed for all who attended to view. Some were unique and unusual, some were crafts made by people who have passed on and kept and treasured by their families. A fancy and elaborate lunch was served to a good attendance.

The World Day of Prayer was held at the United Church March 1. There was mostly senior women in attendance for this year's service prepared by the women of France. The United Church ladies supplied a light lunch following the service. Each year this ecumenical service is prepared by a different country. The theme this year was "I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

The card game 500 was played March 4. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz and low to Jean Hartman. Lunch was provided by Margaret MacEachern.
