MAIDSTONE — Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre July 29 with Cheryl MacAskill and Dorothy Schwartz doing the calling. Dorothy also supplied lunch. Keith Weston won the loonie pot.
The painting of the outside of the centre building has been completed and looks fresh and clean.
Bingo was played Aug. 5 with Cheryl MacAskill doing the calling and supplying lunch.
Cards were played Aug. 10 with the high score going to Lil McMillan and low to Bev Stewart with lunch provided by Dorothy Schwartz.
Bingo was played Aug. 12 with Bev Stewart and Dorothy Schwartz doing the calling. The loonie pot was divided between Rose Leitheiser and Dorothy Schwartz, who also supplied lunch.
The centre is a great place to spend the afternoon on a hot day, as it is always cool in the building regardless of the temperature outside.
Cards and bingo were played at the centre Aug. 17 and 18, but I missed writing down who won. Sorry about that.
Aug 16 an 80th birthday party was held at the centre for Keith Weston. His wife, children and spouses and grandchildren were present, with 113 signing the guest register.
Tuesday our new resident Cheryl MacAskil hosted a birthday party for twon granddaughters who were five years old. Her daughter-in-law, five grandchildren spent the summer with their grandparents and have now returned to their home in Estevan in time for school. It was a busy summer at their house.
A number of seniors attended the annual Blueberry Festival in St. Walburg Aug. 21 and 22. There was a huge crowd in attendance. The weather was not the best with cold wind and showers. There were many interesting booths to browse through.
Cribbage was played Aug. 24. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz, who also supplied lunch. Low went to Dorothy Kissick.
