Librarian Sheryle Powley and special events administrator Amanda Minten encourage individuals to stop by the library and check out the books, services and planned events schedule.

The library, located at the corner of Main Street and Railway Avenue, is housed in the historic CN building. On offer is a large selection of magazines, movies and books for all ages. Fiction, non-fiction, paperback, hardcover, culinary arts, arts and crafts, nature, historic, health, reference and so much more is available at your fingertips.

Patrons requesting a publication that is not in the Blaine Lake branch can order it through the inter-library loan program. Patrons can either search and order the reading material for themselves or be assisted by Sherlye.

Interlibrary book exchange occurs twice a month whereby cases of books are brought in to refresh the branches' shelves.

In conjunction with Saskatchewan Library Week, BL library held a couple of draws but also requested information from its patrons as to what they would like the library to offer. From books and magazines to movies and activities, the directors and staff would like to know what reading material and programs the patrons would like to see offered.

The library is more than books. Two community access computers are on site and community members are welcome to pre-book computer time so they may access their email, browse the Internet or research a project, free of charge. The computers have a network connection to the main library printer so individuals can print off the information.

The Blaine Lake library also has cake pan rentals. Cake pans in a variety of shapes and sizes are available to create unique celebratory cakes.

The CN building houses more than just the library. The back portion of the building contains the town museum and has a number of historical artifacts on display for public viewing during library hours.

Check out the library during the hours of 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
