Blaine Lake senior club held an April Fool's Day social the evening of April 1. Twenty local residents gathered in the centre to enjoy an evening of speech and music.

Cecile Small is a retired grade school teacher and inspirational speaker who grew up in the Martin's Lake area. She enjoys sharing her life's experience with the audience and believes that people are always learning and always teaching.

Cecile is able to use the events of her or her family's past to deliver her warm encouraging message. She captivated the audience with her stories, often moving them to tears of laughter or silence as they contemplated the heartfelt message. She has touched the lives of many and never hesitates to whisper or write encouraging words to those around her.

Ed Bajak, local renowned musician, entertained the audience with his guitar skills as he played many popular tunes from the 1950s and 1960s. Since Ed's move to Blaine Lake three years ago he has been entertaining audiences with his classical and instrumental sessions either solo or as an accompanist to speakers and poets. His generous donation of time to entertain at various events is a valuable asset to many organizations. Ed recently launched the release of his first instrumental CD entitled Simply Charming.
