Bingo warms up a blustery evening

Borden Parks and Recreation Board held a bingo in Borden School gym on a blustery Jan. 12 evening, with about 30 out to play 20 games of bingo. Donated prizes were won by those attending and the cash 50/50 of $36.50 went to Lottie Petriew.

Borden Parks and Recreation Board held a bingo in Borden School gym on a blustery Jan. 12 evening, with about 30 out to play 20 games of bingo. Donated prizes were won by those attending and the cash 50/50 of $36.50 went to Lottie Petriew. The Parks and recreation board is holding a casino night Feb. 5 in the Borden Community Centre. Doors open at 7 p.m. and games start at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and have some fun while trying their luck at the tables.

Affinity Credit Union Borden Branch has donated funds from their Community Development Fund. Jan. 12 Gerry Wainwright, Eric Pearce, Lucy Izsak and Lynette Schmidt presented a cheque of $3,690 to the Borden and District Care Home for Phase II expansion in 2011. Present from the Care Home board were Joe Kasahoff and Richard Mireau from Langham, Kirk Maxwell and Craig Hamilton from Radisson, Doug Boyes, Terry Tkazcyk and secretary Mary Hunchak from Borden.

In the fall the credit union donated $1,361.76 to the Borden Parks and Recreation Board for the building of their sports and recreation grounds.
