Bingo players turn out in force

MAIDSTONE — Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre May 13 with Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. Sharon Budd supplied lunch.

Cards were played May 18 with high score going to Lil McMillan and low to Denise Newton, who also provided lunch.

Bingo was played May 20 with a good turnout on a beautiful summer day. Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern did the calling. The loonie pot was divided between Bev Stewart and Jean Hartman. Dorothy Schwartz supplied lunch.

Cards were played May 25 with more turning out than usual, which was nice. High score went to Dorothy Schwartz, who also supplied lunch. Low went to Jean Hartman.

May 23 was a busy day with graduation that evening, a garage sale at the lodge and a funeral tea at the centre.

Communities in Bloom have placed a number of colourfully painted bikes of all sizes decorated with flowers in town. Very attractive and further beatifies our town. Way to go.

Blossoming trees and shrubs are in full bloom adding colour. The never failing crop of dandelions has taken over lawns and ditches. Wild berries missed the frost so should have a good crop if it rains. So the seasons change, bringing beauty to behold.

Bingo was played May 27 with Joan Smith and Bev Stewart doing the calling. Lunch was provided by Noel Coulthard.

A number of members attended the funeral service for a former member Ruth Jesse who passed away at the Maidstone lodge May 24. Funeral service was held at the Anglican Church May 29.

Cards were played June 1 with high score going to Dorothy Kissick and low to Laurence Den Ouden. Lunch was provided by Jean Stewart.
