HUMBOLDT — An artifact has been stolen from the museum and it's up to two teams of youth to get it back before something happens to it.
That’s the premise behind the Humboldt and District Museum’s Mystery at the Museum being held on Thursday, Aug. 15.
“They're going to have to solve several puzzles in order to rescue the artifact,†said Jean Price, museum supervisor
There will also be local history incorporated into the mystery.
Price said the gallery, which is operated by the museum, has a fairly successful youth membership program, so that was something they wanted to extend to the museum.
“Sixteen to 30 year olds are a group that we don't get coming in a lot for events, programs and things like that, so we wanted to do something specifically for them.â€
The event, inspired by contests like escape rooms and murder mysteries, was designed by the museum’s staff, who are in the 16 to 30 demograhpic.
Price said people should sign up because it will be a fun event where one can meet new people and connect with the community. There will also be refreshments afterwards
As for the artifact being rescued, history buffs need not worry; it’s actually a plate from the Good Neighbour Store.
Mystery at the Museum will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Humboldt Museum.
