The occupants of Battleford West Place were treated to the second annual fish fry supper in the common room. Don and Lynda Kaliasa and Tom and Donna Sieben hosted the event with the help of many others. Not everyone could attend due to other commitments and some have health problems.

Those attending gave farewell greetings and a card to Bunnty Keilbeck, who is leaving the building to live in a seniors’ home in North Battleford. We all wish her well.

A big thank you goes out to all who did so much to put together a lovely meal.

Sympathy thoughts go out to the family and friends of Frank Simpson, who passed away recently.

The building has two open suites for new tenants. They will not take long to fill.

RM of Glenside pest and weed control inspector John Hammond will soon be making his rounds. There will always be new agricultural pests to check out.

High winds went through the area for a short time late one evening. It felt like a plough wind and it had sufficient force to blow off shingles. There was also a brief rain shower that didn’t amount to much.

It’s wonderful to see the farmers busy at last, after such a late spring. It will be a busy time with long hours put in applying fertilizer and sowing seeds.

More summer birds will be arriving. It is pleasant to see and hear them.

The gophers have been out for a time. Some of them have new families already. They are getting difficult to control in some areas.
