Cochin Community Players are back on stage, presenting Squabbles written by Marshall Karpand directed by Roxanne Irvine.

Their run at the Cochin Community Hall wraps up Sunday.

Jerry and Alice Sloan and Alice's widowed father, Abe, a retired cab driver, share a small home. Abe's presence is made more complicated when Alice discovers she is pregnant and wants to plan the baby's room. Jerry's mother Mildred, through a devastating misfortune, is thrown into the mix as a temporary guest.

Abe brings his argumentative skills as a "squabbler" to exasperate the whole family.

Hector, the family handyman creates a foil against whom all the other characters play, including the fierce Mrs. Fisher, the baby's nanny.

One big happy family it is not.

Squabblesis a funny production filled with warmthandjust the right amount of sentiment. The crowd that saw it Sunday afternoon caught thecomical andquick-wittedperformance and enjoyed it immensely. People who haven't seen it, should. It's a couple of hours of laughter to tears, good for a body.

Members of the cast are: Abe Dreyfus, Lloyd Deshaye; Mildred Sloan, Linda Jones; Jerry Sloan, Rick Kostiuk; Alice Sloan, Leanne Merkowsky; Hector Lopez, Dale Woytiuk; Mrs Fisher, Shirley Gies.
