HUMBOLDT — Skate Humboldt will once again be showcasing the talent and hard work of their skaters during this year’s Ice Show.
Skaters will be performing group numbers to the music of Frozen on their March 15 show at the Elgar Petersen Arena, including solo performances by skaters from the StarSkate program.
Athletes from both the CanSkate and StarSkate programs are excited to show off their skills, said Cameron Cline, Skate Humboldt’s president.
"Our annual ice show is an opportunity for all our skaters to perform what they have learned throughout the year, from the smaller CanSkaters who are just learning how to skate to our STARSkaters showing off their figure skating skills."
This year, 46 CanSkaters took the ice to learn the basics of skating; everything from stopping, skating backwards, balance, and changing direction, and five Junior STARSkaters and 15 STARSkaters who are learning how to perform like those on television.
The program will include a guest skater joining the program from the Wynyard Skating Club. Our group performances will be skating to music from Frozen while our solo performers will be skating to music of their choosing that they have been practicing to all year."
Everyone is encouraged to enter through the main Uniplex doors where they can donate to the silver collection and purchase flowers and 50/50 tickets to support the skating club.
Skaters are eager to perform, Cline said, so Skate Humboldt hopes everyone will come and support them.
