Organizers thank everyone who supported the 2013 Terry Fox Ride and barbecue.
The six-mile ride, starting at Hidden Meadows Ranch and stopping for lunch and swimming at Eight Mile Lake Sept. 14, was attended by 30 horses and riders, three wagons and 16 wagon riders.
Jointly sponsored by the Battlefords Quarter Horse Club, Super A Foods, B & D Meats and Hidden Meadows Ranch, the event collected $1,800 in pledges and donations from all participants. All proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Zadie Chapman held her seventh birthday party in conjunction with the ride. Her friends rode horses or on wagons. Instead of gifts, Zadie asked that her friends and their parents donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. Everyone had fun and felt good about donating and making a difference.
