It's time again for Agri-Mex. Long considered a harbinger of spring in the Battlefords, the 28th annual trade show will run April 4, 5 and 6 at the North Battleford Exhibition Park, organized by the Battlefords Agricultural Society. Both the Agriplex and Agrivilla will be in use. On Thursday the 4th and Friday the 5th, the show runs from noon until 9 p.m. On Saturday the 6th, the doors open at 9 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast until 11 a.m. The show closes that day at 5 p.m. Paid admission includes a chance to win $1,500 in cash.

For those of you who are used to taking in Agri-Mex, then delving into a variety of ethnic treats at Taste of Culture, be aware this year's cultural event featuring ethnic foods and entertainment will be held later this spring, May 30 and June 1. It will be held at the Western Development Museum and is an initiative of the Battlefords Immigration Resource Centre.

Back to the upcoming week, another harbinger of spring, the Battlefords Dance Festival, the 33rd annual, will finish up on Thursday, April 4. It began April 1 at the Don Ross Centre. Hundreds of dancers from the Battlefords and around the province each year spend part of their Easter break doing their best to impress the adjudicators and have some fun. Trophies and scholarships will be handed out in a variety of categories.

For inspirational music, the Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute Concert Choir will be in North Battleford on its Easter Choir Tour. The group will perform at Zion Lutheran Church Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. LCBI High School, located on the banks of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Saskatchewan River in Outlook, is known for its rich musical history with bands, choirs and tour groups having excelled in music festivals and national contests.

More inspirational music, this time on the lighter side, can be enjoyed Tuesday, April 9 at Living Faith Chapel at 7 p.m. when Dan Bursey will be in concert. Bursey is an award-winning children's performer who has almost 10 years of full-time pastoral youth and children's ministry experience. Named 2011 Gospel Artist of the Year at the MusicNL awards, Bursey has just released a new CD, Priceless. He tailors his shows to each specific live performance situation. His shows often include various cover songs, re-arranged hymns and worship tunes, as well as humorous originals and improvisation.
