Ag. Association elects executive

The Rabbit Lake and District Agricultural Association held its annual meeting Jan.13 with a full slate of directors in attendance. Christine MacDonald chaired the meeting and reviewed the activities of the past year.

Christine MacDonald chaired the meeting and reviewed the activities of the past year. Mary MacDonald provided a financial review. Elections for the executive for the 2011 term were conducted with Christine MacDonald remaining as president, Alan Laughlin elected vice-president, Kari Dzialo elected as secretary and Joan Dzialo as treasurer. After the AGM a regular meeting was conducted. Items of discussion were the March 5 snowmobile rally, supper and dance and the July 8, 9 and 10 jamboree plans.

Nine tables of Kaiser players gathered at the Rabbit Lake Community Hall for an evening of card playing Jan. 14. Players from Medstead, Sandwith and Spiritwood joined in. A good lunch followed the cards. Thanks to the library board for organizing the evening. Mary Clarkson won the door prize, an outdoor thermometer. Ask Dave Siegel about his score!

The community extends its get well wishes to Doug Grigor who is unwell and to Alice and their family!

The appointments have been made for the Meeting Lake Regional Park Authority for 2011. There are five sponsoring bodies that are able to appoint members to the park board. This year, representing the Village of Rabbit Lake are Isabelle McLennan, Janette Klaassen, and Alan Laughlin. Representing the RM of Round Hill is Lynn Morrison and representing the RM of Spiritwood is Harold Fast. The RMs of Meeting Lake and Douglas have not appointed anyone to the board.
