Adult 12 (Level 4) students at the Battlefords Campus of North West Regional College celebrated the completion of their 2013-14 academic year May 23, 2013, in North Battleford.

Twenty-four graduates in blue caps and gowns made their way to the stage at the Gold Ridge Centre, the last leg of their personal journey toward receiving their Adult 12 Diploma. All of these students are now well prepared to pursue their goals of post-secondary education or employment.

MLA Herb Cox brought greetings on behalf of the Province and commended the students for their hard work and dedication to achieving success, and encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunities in Saskatchewan.

Mayor Ian Hamilton and Melanie Roberts, director of programs, also spoke about the courage of returning to school and the role models these students have become.

Partners were acknowledged for their belief in education, their essential role in the success of the program and the transition of students to the next phase of their journey.

All students received certificates acknowledging their accomplishments. A number of students were recognized for academic excellence, receiving 90 per cent or more in a core subject. Special recognition went out to a number of award winners.

Christopher Applegarth received the Model for Student Success Award and Brianne Dubrule received the Graduate Bursary.
