Activities resume at the centre

Activities are back in full swing at the Maidstone Drop In Centre after two months of holidays. Cards were played Sept. 2 with high score going to Jean Hartman and low to Margaret MacEachern. Lunch was provided by Jean Stewart.

There was a good turnout for bingo Sept 4. Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern did the calling. Lunch was provided by Bev Stewart and Dorothy Harmel.

The September meeting was held Sept. 6 with Margaret MacEachern in the chair. August, September, October potluck lunch will be held Oct. 18 at noon. Lunch was supplied by Dorothy Schwartz.

There was a small turnout for cards Sept 9. High score was a tie between Bev Stewart and Denise Newton. Lunch was provided by Lil and Jean Hartman.

There was a good turnout for the Sept. 11 bingo. Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern did the calling. Lunch was provided be Norma Hougan and Jean Stewart.

The free foot clinic started again Sept 12 at the Legion Hall from 9 a.m. to noon and at Pine Island Suites in the afternoon. It is held on the second Thursday of every month except August.

Harvest is well underway and crops are extra good this year in this area. Hope the nice weather holds.
