Forty members of the North Battleford Action Now Seniors' Club did not let a snowy, blustery day stop them from attending the birthday luncheon held Feb. 12 at noon.
There were 10 birthday celebrants present and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken and variety of dishes followed by birthday cake and ice cream. Congratulations to Marguerite Kovalsky who was presented with an honorary life membership by membership chairperson Helen Misan. Walter Dubnyk was also a recipient, but was unable to attend.
Following lunch, 35 members stayed to enjoy an afternoon of Kaiser, which is held every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Cribbage is played Fridays and Canasta Mondays and Thursdays also at 1:30 p.m.
An evening Kaiser tournament is held the first Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. that is open to anyone who would like to come. Winners in the Februrary tournament were Marg Kemp and Shelley Leite with Jean Smith getting the door prize.
Over the past few months several members have been hospitalized for various reasons and we sincerely wish them all speedy recoveries.
The annual general meeting will be held March 17 at 1:30 p.m. and all members are encouraged to attend. Coffee and doughnuts will be served.
Anyone who is 50 years of age or older is invited to join the club for a yearly membership of only $5.
