MAYFAIR — Mark your calendar for a Rose Gill Lodge barbecue supper Monday, July 4 in Rabbit Lake from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be lots to eat besides hamburgers salads and dessert. This is a fundraiser for this seniors’ lodge.
Jolene Strain (Buziak), co- owner of 4 Suns Ag Solutions, hosted a ladies’ evening this past Monday on their farm east of North Battleford. Almost 20 were taken to three different fields to learn more about the different stages of growth among a variety of crops toured. Strain shared her extensive knowledge with the participants. There were many gift bags and draws sponsored by Pioneer, Farm Credit Corporation and Kristi Rousseau, independent dealer with Younique products. Rousseau also owns Farm Fresh Fitness.
The students are out of school for the summer holiday so, motorists, please be more vigilant. Children are often so engaged in their outdoor activities they often don’t look for or hear vehicles.
Canada Day in most parks should be back to normal. Google the parks’ webpages to see what’s happening. I’m sure the evening will end with a blast of colourful fireworks.
I was thoroughly impressed at the dancing skills at the powwow day at the Western Development Museum last week. It must take many hours of skilled labour to put together the colourful costumes. A large crowd was in attendance on this warm sunny day.
