A visit from the Penguins

Mme. Blais and her Grade 1, 2 and 3 students are counting down the days until the holidays.

T'was the day 'fore the concert, and all through the school, École Père Mercure penguins were acting like fools.

The students were nestled all snug in their desks, while visions of gingerbreads danced in their heads.

When out of nowhere, music filled the air, in the corridor children played with festive care.

Then after a meal of taters and roast, we settled our minds for an afternoon toast.

The next thing we knew and, what should appear, Dan Blais in his Santa tie and eight teacher dears!

Now Céline! Now Michele! Now Yvette 'n Lizzie,

On Caroline! On Dallia! On Kathryn! On Lori!

The staff having a blast with their students all day,

The decorating team was up and away.

And then with a jingle the families arrived, the penguins a waddling and marching in stride.

The gym filled with laughter, cheer, and a flash, all set to start the Concert Bash.

A visit from Santa, to the children's delight, with oranges and candy canes to top off the night.

Now march away, march away 'n waddle away all!

We penguins from École Père Mercure, our families and friends, wish one and all Joyeux Noël et une bonne année!
