There may be snow on the ground, but there is music is in the air! This November the Chapel Gallery is abuzz with the sounds of music and a wonderful watercolour workshop.

Saskia and Darrel Delaronde, renowned musicians, will be performing at the Chapel Gallery Friday, Nov. 9. This is going to be a magical evening of friendship and laughter as the Saskatchewan-based singer/songwriter duo are preparing to sing their last few local shows of the season before heading out for new horizons.

Saskia and Darrel have planned a special Remembrance Day concert and a portion of the evening will feature songs about war brides emigrating to the prairies in the late 1940s. Other songs include a heartfelt paean (The Porchlight) for our children who died serving overseas, a stirring tribute to veterans (The Eleventh Hour), along with many of their upbeat original songs. .

Nov. 16 to 18, get ready to saddle up your paintbrush and enter the wilderness of watercolour painting with western artist Graham Flatt. He will lead the trail and inspire the imagination as participants create landscapes and still life paintings in this beginner's watercolour workshop. Four techniques will be explored - wet on wet, dry on dry, wet on dry and dry on wet. If that seems confusing, don't worry, as the workshop will be entertaining and the techniques will be talked about in depth.

Flatt takes a light hearted approach to creating a work of art. Bring your watercolours and ensure ] you have thalo/windsor blue and yellow ochre on your artist palette. These supplies may be purchased at the Allen Sapp Gallery Gift Shop. Bring your own lunch and snacks. Refreshments are provided.

To register for the workshop please contact the Chapel Gallery at 445-1757 or the Allen Sapp Gallery at 445-1760.
