This colourful quilt was the final one completed by Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild member Betty Mann before she passed away.

Twenty-nine people were present at the first meeting of the new season for the Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild, held at the Don Ross craft room Sept. 7.

These fortunate individuals were treated to a harvest feast of colour, dramatic patterns and a variety of projects.

During the business part of the meeting, details were provided for the upcoming season, which will include free motion quilting, a two-colour block sample, placemats, laptop covers, a log cabin table runner as well as comfort quilts for the care facilities and the Empty Stocking Fund.

However, it was the "show and tell" part of the meeting that captured the attention, as quilts and other projects revaled a feast of colour and design, leaving many spellbound. It was a display of artistry and skill that will be difficult to emulate but members left the meeting eager to start their own projects.

If you feewl you would like to participate in guild activities, please attend the next meeting Oct. 5 at the Don Ross Centre or call Irene at 937-3551 or Barb at 445-0486 for further information.
