Paynton artists Mariann Taubensee and Ellery Russell spent four days in Edmonton for the ReArtCycle show, DemoMission, June 23 to 26.
Theexhibit of recycle inspired art was a great success as Edmonton residents were surprised by the new take on an old idea. Milk jugs made into puppets, tile and grout mixed with glass for wall art, plexiglass covered in broken bottles, rusty nails and other various materials made a landscape you could only dream up. Old farm machinery was reconstructed into owls and fish and bicycles into dogs, cats and chickens.
The group of seven artists each have a fresh perspective on what recycling means to them. Some items used to create the worksare more recognizablethan others, someyou would never guess what materials created the masterpiece.

Three Bears Bakery is back at the Paynton Farmers' Market selling their delicious breads. Ranging from whole wheat to herb and cheese, the breads are all delicious. They also bring an assortment of frozen meal items from time to time.
