Our sympathy to the Louise and Herman Gary family, formerly of Waseca, on the death of their daughter Amy. Amy passed away on the weekend at the age of 34 following many years of medical care.
Aug. 4, Waseca Hall was the scene of a celebration honouring Agnes Lesyk (Hult) on the occasion of her 90th birthday. The afternoon come and go tea was well attended by relatives and friends who visited with Agnes and others present whom they had not seen for a long time. Pictures were constantly being taken so there will be lots of memories to look back on.
A catered supper for the family was held later with approximately 60 family members taking part in the festivities.
The flowerpots planted by Waseca Communities in Bloom members have really done well this year. One of them is a lily bed with a variety of lilies now blooming.
A small but enthusiastic group of people attended the July 31 public meeting held in the community centre. The new bylaw and community plan was discussed with positive comments following. Those present felt these were good steps for the future. The group also spoke positively about the work of the bylaw officer. A social time followed with coffee and doughnuts.
Condolences to the Nelson and Attfield families on the tragic death of Tarren Attefield July 27. His funeral took place in Lashburn High School gym Aug. 2.

Two Waseca families, Lyle and Jennifer Granger and Tracy and Robert Rempel, have moved to Maidstone where they have found larger homes to accommodate their growing families. We wish them well.
