Long time resident of Maidstone and area, Scotty Wiltermuth, celebrated his 90th birthday with a come and go tea at the Maidstone Drop In Centre July 5.

To his surprise he was picked up at his home and taken to the centre in style in a rubber-tired wagon draw by a beautifully groomed team of fjord horses. They were driven by long-time friend Gerry Manson from north Marshall.

During the afternoon many children and adults also enjoyed wagon rides around town.

More than 150 relatives and friends signed the guest book. They came from Vancouver, B.C., Kelowna, B.C., Toronto, Ont., Edmonton, Alta., Kitscoty, Alta. Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Kindersley, Ogmea, Paradise Hill, Medstead, North Battleford, Lloydminster, Marshall, Neilburg, Waseca and Maidstone. Following the tea, Scotty was taken by horse and wagon to a catered cold plate supper held at the United Church CE Wing for about 80 relatives and close friends.

Scotty's children arranged this memorable day for their father. It's a day that won't be soon forgotten by him and all those who attended. Even the weatherman co-operated and it was a sunny day.
