Mervin 4-H Beef Club had a regular meeting Jan. 22. The date was set for the club’s public speaking evening. It will be held Feb. 23 at the Mervin Complex starting at 7 p.m.
Achievement Day was discussed as well as our club constitution.
Jan. 30 the club took a tour of the dairy barn portion of Greenbelt Farms at Wainwright, Alta. We toured the newborn barn, the older calf barn and then we went to the milking barn. We were shown the dairy cows and the all the machines. We were able to watch how the cows were milked and how the milk travels to the holding tanks. It was a great learning experience. We finished the day at Boston Pizza.
