Borden Community Centre Preservation Committee held their third annual snowmobile rally, Jan. 18, with 213 riders registered who went on the 80-mile trail or the 55-mile trail. Free hotdogs and hot chocolate were served at the halfway checkpoint. There was chili for sale throughout the day and a ham and baked potato supper in the evening.
There were draws made for just under 200 of the riders so most went home with a prize. The 50/50 draw of $408 went to Joel Sutherland of Saskatoon. The main cash draw winners were: Lee Osbourne of Borden, first, 25 per cent - $1,275; Mary Ann Dyck of Langham, second, 15 per cent - $765; and Shari Nickel of Borden, third, 10 per cent - $510.
In other draws a cordless drill set went to Carol Langenburg of Dalmeny, a JD toy combine to Janelle Franko of Luseland and muck boots to Lee Ann Coates of Radisson.
From their community development fund, Affinity Credit Union made two presentations at the supper: $1,000 to the BCC Preservation Committee for the prizes and $4,693.82 to the Village of Borden for community centre renovations.
Kay Brunsch, formerly of Radisson, died Nov. 29, 2013, at the age of 79, in Fort Nelson, B.C., where her daughter Lynn Fertuk resides. A memorial service will be held in Radisson June 21.

The club set their Telemiracle Valentine's tea for, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., with a 50/50 draw and door prizes.
