THEISEN: Teresa Eleanor

July 17, 1949 - September 15, 2013

It is with great sorrow that the family of Teresa Eleanor (nee Klitch) Theisen of Pilger, SK, announces her death on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was 64 years of age. Teresa, the fourth of seven children, was born to Paul and Emma (nee Schreiner) Klitch on July 17, 1949, in Humboldt. She grew up there and attended St. Augustine R.C. School until completing Grade 9. During those years, Teresa was active in Girl Guides and was picked to be a leader on a trip to Prince Edward Island. She enjoyed babysitting and worked at Modern Meat in Humboldt. Teresa then met the love of her life, Marvin Theisen. They were married on June 23, 1979, and made their home on a farm just outside of Pilger. Teresa and Marvin were blessed with two wonderful children, Kevin in 1980, and Anna in 1987. Teresa helped out at the library in Pilger, with play school, and worked at the Humboldt Journal as well. She then went to work at Bethany Pioneer Village until her early retirement. Teresa had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards with family. She loved spending time at Delaronde Lake, where she and Marvin owned a cabin, and going for long drives in the evening. Other favorite pastimes were bowling, reading, sketching, and scrapbooking. Teresa will be remembered by her husband of 34 years, Marvin Theisen of Pilger, SK; their two children: Kevin Theisen (Kayla Knouse) of Kindersley, SK; and Anna Theisen (Ryan Ferguson) of Melfort, SK; three sisters: Shirley (Gerald) Lange of Humboldt, SK; Emily (Lou) Chartrand of Pierceland, SK; and Debbie Cochrane (Tom Robinson) of Calgary, AB; one brother, Donnie Klitch (Ann) of Nova Scotia; sister-in-law, Monica Jonas of Humboldt, SK; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Emma (nee Schreiner) Klitch; and by two brothers: Roger Klitch and Gerald Klitch. The Prayer Service for Teresa was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., led by Marlene VanDresar and organist Marie Aubin. Scripture readers were Diane and Larry Walby, and the eulogy was delivered by Eileen Klitch. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Others taking part were: Corey Dean Klitch, crossbearer; Donnie Klitch, urnbearer; Diane and Larry Walby, scripture readers; Chelsea Joa, intentions; David Lange and Russell Klitch, giftbearers; Debbie Hustej and Darlene Buchacher, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by organist Marie Aubin, director Loretta Schugmann, and the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Teresa's life". Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either Bethany Pioneer Village or the St. Augustine Parish Building Fund.
