ASCHENBRENNER: Norman

1937 - 2014

Norman passed away on August 28 with his family by his side. Norman was born in Fulda, SK where he farmed and later worked at a potash mine for 33 years as a pipefitter. Norman always had great jokes to share and loved to laugh. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time at the horse races. Norman loved to travel to Cuba, with his wife Jody, in the winter months. He enjoyed sharing stories, about the beauty of the country and its people, upon their return. Norman was a man of strong conviction, never bending in his morals, values, and beliefs. Those that knew and loved him, knew this well. Some of his best times were being in the backyard with Jody and attending the Walter Ostanek concerts dancing the night away. He is survived by his wife, Jody, his children: Ronalee (Gary Hall), Kim Aschenbrenner, Cindy (Blair Barilla), and Sheldon Aschenbrenner (Marie); grandchildren: Ryan Weyland (Carla), Nicole Aschenbrenner (Myles Waldo), Jason Aschenbrenner (Jen Lavoie), Kyle Aschenbrenner and Taylor Aschenbrenner; great- grandchildren Nash and Kennedy Weyland; brothers: Arnold Aschenbrenner (Sally) and Raymond Aschenbrenner (Emma); sister Armella (Ken Kemper); Jody's daughters: Lana Freeborn (Rick Koenig) and Jackie Freeborn (Mostafa Aachchiou); grandchildren: Sarah Freeborn, Ryan Koenig (Jadine), Brookelynn and Anika Aachchiou; great grandson Shawn Koenig; and special nephews: Ron Aschenbrenner and Randy Aschenbrenner. At Norman's request there will be no funeral. Cremation arrangements in care of David Polzen - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES, Saskatoon. www.mourningglory.ca
