The sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Larry Briske, 60 years of Jansen, SK occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Larry was born at Wynyard on October 17th, 1949 the eldest of three sons to Mr. Alvin and Margaret (nee Biedler) Briske. Farming was very much a part of Larry's life and he took pride in his work on the family farm. Larry was proud of his family and supported their endeavours, making many trips to watch his boys play hockey and Meagan skate. He was a core member of the Jansen Band, played fastball with the Jansen Jacks but curling was his main love. Just this past winter he won his "Purple Heart" and represented Saskatchewan at the Masters Curling Championships in St. John, New Brunswick. Larry was a gentle soul and he walked with a softness everyone could see. Larry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 38 years Pamala (nee Anderson) Briske of Jansen; three children and three grandchildren: Shannon (Jill) Briske and children, Cassidy, Mason and Berlyn; and Byron Briske, all of Saskatoon and Meagan Briske of Dubai; parents, Alvin and Margaret of Jansen; two brothers: Dale (Diane) Briske and children, Marcus and Lauren of Edmonton, AB and Paul (Joanne) Briske and son Max of Calgary, AB; parents-in-law, Andres and Shirley Anderson of Saskatoon and sisters and brothers-in-law: Laurel Anderson (Tim Rienhart) of Calgary, AB, Andrea (Bruce) Turner and family, Tawnya, Tracy and Taylor, all of Lanigan, Rory Anderson of Drake and Scott (Jewel) Anderson of Humboldt and daughter Tiffany of Moose Jaw; and by many good friends. Larry was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Aldis (nee Auchstaetter) Anderson. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church at Jansen, SK officiated by Rev. Lisa Skogsrud. Memorial donation in Larry's memory may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or Humboldt SPCA. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt (682-1622).
