The passing of Mary Lamping (nee Stroeder) of Lake Lenore, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the age of 67 years. Mary was born February 5, 1948 to Anthony and Mary (nee Albers) Stroeder and was the tenth of 18 children. She was raised on the family farm north of Marysburg and attended school in Marysburg and Muenster. Her parents taught her the meaning of family, hard work, and responsibility. After her schooling, she had numerous jobs working at OK Economy, the dentist office, and Red & White. In 1970, she married Art Lamping and they were married for 45 years. They settled on the Lamping family farm near Lake Lenore. In 1974, they were blessed with their first daughter Tina and in 1975, their second daughter Jodie. After a few years enjoying being a mom, she returned to the work force and worked at Central Meats, the Co-op and finally Bethany Pioneer Village until her retirement in 2010. Mary had many loves but the greatest was her flowers and birds. She spent hours enjoying them on her deck. She also loved telling stories and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary was a very talented baker and was known for her cream puffs, scuffles, and chocolate zucchini cake. Her hobbies were playing cards, baking, quilting and sewing. Mary will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 45 years, Art Lamping; two daughters, Tina(Brad) Bogucky and their children: Thomas and Julia; Jodie(Roland) Hoeflicher and their children: Reid, Joelle and Josie; siblings: Randy(Janet) Stroeder, Melvin(Josephine) Stroeder, Grace Bautz, Millie(Ray) Hoffman, Bob Stroeder, Nettie Stroeder, Tony(Sandy) Stroeder, Ann Zelle, Ken Stroeder, Ruth(Beno) Barlage, Karen Ferguson, Kevin(Allyson) Stroeder, and Judy(Paul) Ulrich; 38 nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Joan(Pete) Matvichuk and Mary-Lou(Elmer) Wosminity; one brother-in-law, Hugo Lamping; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary (nee Albers) Stroeder; four sisters, Virginia Thimm, Marina Stroeder, and Marie and Elizabeth Stroeder (in infancy); two brothers-in-law, Arnold Thimm and Roger Zelle; three nephews, Bruce Thimm, Morris Hoffman and John Barlage; one niece, Carla Stroeder; two great-nephews, Logan and Landon Wittke; two great-nieces, Courtney Hammerer and Amara Wittke; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Lamping. The Funeral Mass for Mary was offered at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Pilger, SK, on Monday, August 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Cosmas Epifano, OSB. Others taking part were: Gary Thimm, crossbearer; Kevin Stroeder and Karen Ferguson, scripture readers; Vaughn Irlbeck, intentions; John and Angel Bregenser, giftbearers; Ardel Hautzinger, organist; and Belinda Ilg and Joan Freriks, memorial table attendants. The eulogy was delivered by Brad Bogucky. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Mary’s life. The urnbearer was Reid Hoeflicher. Interment followed at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pilger. Memorial donations may be directed to either the St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund or Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
