STADNYK: Lloyd Anton

April 13, 1958 – December 11, 2014

The sudden and unexpected passing of Lloyd Anton Stadnyk of Humboldt, SK, occurred at his residence on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the age of 56 years. Lloyd was born on April 13, 1958 in Humboldt to Doris and Tony Stadnyk and attended school in Humboldt where he completed his grade 8. After grade 8 he was then employed with the Town of Humboldt until he retired. Lloyd was very involved going hunting with his brother Leddi and cousins Harry and Ken. Every hunting season was a big event making signs and deciding where the “BIG ONE” was. Lloyd also loved music and would always be listening to Ukrainian music, country music and the old time music. His passion was playing drums and he was proud that he was able to play with his Uncle Andy’s band. Lloyd also enjoyed polka dancing and so acquired the nickname twinkle toes. Lloyd loved his sports and could always be seen watching his favorite hockey team the Montreal Canadiens of which you could never say anything bad about them. He also loved his wrestling and often was teased about how fake it was which would get him really angry especially at his brother. Lloyd loved to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Lisa and Courtney would accompany him to games and he would cheer very loudly. He also enjoyed going fishing, playing Kaiser and broomball. Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his mother Doris (nee Zerebeski) Stadnyk of Humboldt; his two sisters: Bernadine (Stan) Dyck of Humboldt and family, Chantelle (Jeff) of Saskatoon, Rebecca (Andrew) of Saskatoon, and Gerad of Saskatoon; and Lisa (Courtney) Ward and family, Brittany and Tony of Humboldt; Leddi’s children, Chris (Krystal) and family, Matthew and Hailey, Tina (Richard) and her daughter Katlynn, Nathan Stadnyk and Travis Stadnyk and daughter Cheyenne; and his special cat, Kitty. He was predeceased by his father Tony Stadnyk; brother Leddi Stadnyk; paternal grandparents Wasyl and Annie (nee Shule) Stadnyk; maternal grandparents Mike and Isabelle Zerebeski; and pets, Lucky, Star and Sammy. The Prayer Service for Lloyd was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, on Monday, December 15, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. The eulogist was Chantelle Dyck. The Funeral Mass was offered at All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Fr. Mykola Romanets. Others taking part were: Katlynn Stadnyk, crossbearer; Audrey Cherneski, cantor; and Steve Stadnyk, sacristan. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Lloyd’s life. Active pallbearers were Tina Stadnyk, Rebecca Dyck, Gerad Dyck, Nathan Stadnyk, Travis Stadnyk, Christopher Stadnyk, Chantelle Dyck and Travis Shaw. Interment followed at All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church, Humboldt. Memorial donations may be directed to either the All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church or Ducks Unlimited.
