August 8, 1942 - May 3, 2014

Mrs. Linda Rose (nee Plascko) Weyland of Pilger, SK, passed away at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on May 3, 2014, at 6:15 p.m. She was 71 years of age. Linda, the eldest of six children, was born on August 8, 1942, to Michael and Julia (nee Kiss) Plascko at Pilger. Linda was a dedicated employee at Bethany Pioneer Village at Middle Lake for 30 years before retiring to care for her gardens and spend time with her loved ones. "Linda was a very giving child, sibling, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother." Linda will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 53 years, Delmer Weyland of Pilger; their four children: Darcy Weyland of Pilger; Judy(Don) Vedress of Saskatoon; Darryl Weyland of Edmonton, AB; and Devin Weyland(Shannon Hiebert) of Sherwood Park; AB; five grandchildren: Josh Vedress, Jasmine Vedress and Lyndon Vedress(Betty), all of Saskatoon, Taya Weyland and Bree Weyland, both of Sherwood Park; one great-grandchild, Evaya Vedress of Saskatoon; two brothers and one sister: Lorne(Lindy) Plascko, Arlin Plascko, and Kathy(Dwain) Hazen; sister-in-law, Margaret Plascko; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia (nee Kiss) Plascko; and by two brothers, Harvey Plascko and David Plascko. The Funeral Mass was offered at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Pilger, on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Others taking part were: Jasmine Vedress, crossbearer; Judy Vedress, urnbearer; Donald Vedress and Lenore Pomedli, scripture readers; Luella Bregenser, intentions; Anne Ruep and Sally Freriks, giftbearers; Valentine and Lorraine Pomedli, memorial table attendants; and Ardel Hautzinger, organist. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to either Bethany Pioneer Village or the Holy Trinity R.C. Cemetery Fund.
